Messiah revealed to Moses Twice
At least twice, Jesus was revealed to Moses!
Exodus 3:14-15 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The LORD (YHVH) God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.
The Tanak actually makes this point even more strongly. It reads: "God said to Moses, "I SHALL BE WHO I SHALL BE."
Who shall He be? The word translated "LORD" in our Scriptures is (Hebrew YHWH) means "TO BE" He is self-existent.
But, broken down into the meaning of each Hebrew letter,we have an even more detailed prophecy. : Yud-Heh-Vav-Heh - YHVH
Y=yod = hand H=heh= behold V=vav = nail H=heh = behold
In English would be rendered "Behold the hand, behold the nail". So the name God is to be remembered by is "Behold the hand, Behold the nail"!
God loved people so much that the meaning of the name He gave Himself points to what He would do through Christ to save us - and He showed this to Moses.
Exodus 33:18-23 we have the LORD proclaiming the LORD to Moses and his glory passing before him.
Exodus 33:18-23 And he[Moses] said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory. And he[God] said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy. And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live. And the LORD said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock: And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by: And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.
The LORD is proclaiming the name of LORD that is YHVH-behold hand behold nail. God is proclaiming Jesus.
God spirit -no man has seen spirit, but Moses saw Christ in His glory and had Christ proclaimed to him. Is it any wonder he writes about a prophet like him coming to lead people (Deuteronomy 18:15)and Jesus writes that Moses wrote of Him?? (John 1:45, 5:46)
God's word is amazing - amen!
Deuteronomy 18:15 The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;
John 1:45 Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.
John 5:46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.
